Reclaiming Your Reality: Healing from Narcissistic Abuse
In high-conflict or narcissistic relationships, the greatest theft isn't your time or your money—it’s your agency. You know you are experiencing narcissism when your reality is constantly being negotiated. It is the "gaslighting" effect: a systematic erosion of your own senses until you no longer trust the floor beneath your feet. Over time, you stop asking "What happened?" and start asking "What is wrong with me?"
Our Work Together
We work to rebuild your internal compass by focusing on your immediate truth. Healing is not just about understanding the other person’s pathology; it is about restoring your relationship with yourself.
From Passive to Active: We move from a state of being "acted upon"—constantly reacting to someone else's chaos—to becoming the author of your own story.
Restoring the Senses: We practice trusting your intuition again, quieting the voice of the critic that was planted there by someone else.
Reclaiming the Truth: We reclaim the reality that was intentionally broken.
"The first step of freedom is realizing that your perspective doesn't need their permission to be true."
Resources for Reclaiming Your Agency
To support this journey of restoration, I highly recommend the following clinical partners, foundational texts, and advocacy groups:
Clinical & Community Advocacy: I am proud to work with Yellow Chair Collective for culturally responsive care, Mental Health America for broad community support, and organizations like the Asian Mental Health Project and Cal Asian Foundation that empower AAPI voices.
Healing the Body & Mind: For understanding the deep impact of trauma and C-PTSD, explore The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo, and My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem.
Psychological & Spiritual Growth: I draw deep inspiration from the existential wisdom of Irvin Yalom, the depth psychology of Carl Jung, and the practical skills found in the ACT Workbook. For those integrating faith, Dallas Willard’s Renovation of the Heart, Peter Scazzero’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, and the radical kinship of Father Gregory Boyle provide a map for soul-level transformation.
Safety & Financial Justice: If you are navigating an abusive dynamic, Love is Respect offers vital relationship education, while FreeFrom focuses on the economic freedom necessary for survivors to thrive.
Crisis Support: If you need immediate emotional support, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. For immediate physical danger, always dial 911.
