Los Angeles + online across California

Therapy for deep seekers and feelers.

Evidence-based, culturally affirming therapy for anxiety, childhood trauma, family pressure & burnout.

You don't need the right words. Just come as you are.

Why this work

This is the place to stop performing — and start feeling it, including the relief of actually changing.

We guide clients from ANXIETY, PEOPLE-PLEASING & old survival patterns into GROUNDED, self-trusting women who get to CHOOSE.

Welcome, I'm Helen - a therapist who understands the culture you carry.

You can be honest here. I work with the eldest daughters, the perpetually "fine" ones, the high-achievers who forgot to ask themselves how they're doing, the quiet criers, and the people just now realizing that surviving your childhood isn't the same as healing from it.

You are not too much. You have been carrying too much.

I grew up the eldest daughter in an Asian immigrant family, learning early how to hold everything together so no one else had to worry. Somewhere in learning to heal my own story, I became a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), based in Arcadia and working with clients across Los Angeles and online statewide, who cares deeply about people carrying childhood trauma — the kind that quietly shapes how you love, work, and see yourself long after it happened. I don't just want to help you manage it. I want to help you actually heal. I consider myself lucky to be the person people let in once they're ready to stop pretending they're fine.

What may feel familiar

You keep the peace. But you're not at peace.

You look responsible, thoughtful, put-together. Underneath, you feel anxious, resentful, or numb — and tired from holding it all alone. Therapy is where that gap starts to close.

How it works

Three steps. No guesswork.

1. Start with a fit call.

Free, 15 minutes, zero pressure. We talk through what's happening, fees, availability, and whether it's a fit.

2. Name the pattern.

Anxiety. Guilt. Shutdown. Resentment. Family pressure. We find what keeps repeating — and why.

3. Practice real change.

Clearer boundaries. Honest communication. Repair. A peace you can actually feel — not just talk about.

You don't need a reason big enough to start. You just need to start.

What changes

Prepared. Clear. At peace.

You speak sooner.

Clearer language for needs, boundaries, hurt, and repair — right when you need it.

You stop confusing guilt with love.

You care deeply, without abandoning yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.

You embody real peace.

Not the quiet, keep-the-peace kind. The kind you feel in your body, your voice, your relationships.

Quick answers

What people usually want to know first.

Who does Sincere Practice work with?

Helen specializes in therapy for Asian women, Christian women, new and postpartum moms, and female entrepreneurs — plus interracial couples. Many clients are high-achieving, family-oriented, and new to therapy.

Is Helen a Christian therapist / faith-based counselor?

Yes. Helen is a Christian therapist who welcomes prayer, Scripture, doubt, and grief in session for clients who want that, and offers standard talk therapy for clients who don't. Faith is never required.

Do you offer online therapy in California?

Yes. In-person sessions are held in Arcadia, California, near Pasadena and Los Angeles. Online therapy is available anywhere in California via telehealth.

What does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?

Individual sessions are $200 and couples sessions are $250, both 50 minutes. Helen accepts Cigna; for other PPO plans, superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A limited sliding scale is available case by case.
