Free grounding tool

Let’s take a sec to breathe.

Four slow sides. About one minute.

First, check in: where are your shoulders right now? No need to fix anything.

Ready
  1. Breathe in 4
  2. Hold 4
  3. Breathe out 4
  4. Hold 4

Nothing you do here is saved or shared.

Why box breathing works

When you’re anxious, breathing gets fast and shallow, and your body reads that as a sign of danger. Slowing your breath to an even, steady rhythm sends the opposite message: you’re safe enough to slow down.

Box breathing gives your mind one simple job: in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. Counting and following the shape keeps your attention on the present instead of the worry. The quick check-in before and after helps you notice what changed, even a little.

It works best when practiced on calm days too, so it’s familiar when you need it. If holding your breath feels uncomfortable, skip the holds and just breathe slowly in and out. Grounding is a tool, not a cure. If you find yourself needing it often, therapy can help you understand what your body is carrying and why.
